Faith Formation is a lifelong process. At our Baptism we formally became a member of the Church. Throughout our lives we continue to grow in faith and holiness through our participation in the life and practices of the church.
Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish has programs for children, youth and adults. Below is a summary of the many opportunities offered. For more detailed information on any of the programs contact the Director of Faith Formation, Barbara Anderson at email@example.com or 410-661-3820.
FAITH FORMATION FOR ADULTS
· Discussion groups are held on Sunday mornings from 9:00 am – 10:00 am throughout the year to discuss topics of church and faith. See the parish calendar or parish bulletin for specific topics and dates.
· A Bible study is held on Wednesday afternoons from 1-2:30 pm in Cartwright Hall.
FAITH FORMATION FOR PRE-K-8TH GRADES
We partner with parents to help them support their children in their faith journey. The Faith Formation sessions meet on Sundays from 8:50-10:00 am from September-March. The materials used are based on the Sunday scripture readings and provide opportunities for further discussion and activities at home in a family setting.

CHILDREN’S LITURGY OF THE WORD (CLOW)
Children’s Liturgy of the Word is held during the 10:15 am Mass from September through May. Children are dismissed to Cartwright Hall beneath the church to hear the readings of the day from the Children’s lectionary and return to the church for the rest of the Mass following the homily.
Inclement weather, Emergency and Safety Procedures for Faith Formation
Volunteers are the heart of all of our ministries. Without volunteers we cannot serve the parishioners. Please consider being a volunteer in our Faith Formation/Youth Ministry programs and sharing your faith with our young parishioners. Click Here for volunteer descriptions
CHILD AND YOUTH PROTECTION – VIRTUS
All volunteers must complete the Child and Youth Protection Training - VIRTUS. This is available online and must be completed at your convenience before you start volunteering. Once you’ve indicated your interest in volunteering, we will give you the paperwork that needs to be completed and a link to the online process. If you have any questions about the volunteer positions, the Child and Youth Protection program, or anything else about our Faith Formation program, please contact Barbara Anderson at 410-661-3820 or at firstname.lastname@example.org in the Office of Faith Formation.
